Yesterday i finally got inspired, and i wrote a poem. I owe the South-African poet Ingrid Jonker for that.
This semester i followed the course 'Worldliterature', and there i came into contact with her poetry. Of course we discussed her poem 'Die kind wat doodgeskiet is deur soldate by Nyanga' (The child who was shot by soldiers at Nyanga), which Nelson Mandela cited at his speech in 1994. A beautiful and heavy poem, also beautifully portrayed in the film 'Black Butterflies' about Jonker's life.
Another poem which made a great impression on me was 'Ek herhaal jou':
